I'm really glad to hear that they did research on that! But... just ask the parents! Of course there's an improved quality of life... they can hear!

Lucas was born with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss to two hearing parents. He wore hearing aids starting at 3 months, but he got no benefit from them, as we soon found out. He received a cochlear implant in his right ear 3 days after his first birthday. His second ear was implanted 1 month before his third birthday. Cochlear implants have changed Lucas's life immensely. This site was developed to chronicle his life and progress learning to listen and speak!

Oh wow - you don't say?? LOL!
I think that gets the "no duh" award for the year, lol.
I read that too and thought it was a really superficial and pointless factoid. They should have added some statistics in there or something to beef it up!
I think one of you good writers, you or Leah or Val should write an article for Parents about having a HOH child.
