Enjoy the first weekend in LA!! I'm totally glad he's expressing new words and sounds. Just like Lucas, it's like seeing a new child but an extremely exciting time!! I'm glad you're documenting it~mamatoadeafmiraclehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02956261893881149357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5238015183157060422.post-66558955701498005162010-07-16T18:53:43.010-07:002010-07-16T18:53:43.010-07:00It's so sweet that Lucas asked for his friends...It's so sweet that Lucas asked for his friends in the morning before school. The children grow quite attached to each other, and the parents grow attached to the other children too, as you are probably already witnessing. It's bittersweet and a little bit heartbreaking at the end when you see how much they have all progressed and then have to say goodbye. Thank goodness for the internet!

Have a great time at the aquarium!xraevisionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08379269876085160558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5238015183157060422.post-66831448266189478382010-07-16T18:01:00.041-07:002010-07-16T18:01:00.041-07:00How exciting!! I can't imagine the stress of a first year filled with blank audiograms- the CI is truly amazing. For us, the stress comes with those constantly shifting lines (and if there's any additional loss, the grief starts all over again). It's like going through "diagnosis day" over and over again, and not knowing what the future holds.

I can't remember what today's lectures are (left the binder in the classroom), but I get to see Matt at noon, so I'm pretty excited about that.

Lucas is doing so great (and the Knut/blanket thing is pretty cute- reminds me of Linus from the Peanuts comic strip). We're hearing more words, too- I heard "the" come out of NOlan's mouth the other night. We're getting more complete sentences- woo hoo!leahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004783118268323560noreply@blogger.com
